Our younger Horizon group has welcomed several new children this autumn. We have therefore focused on connecting to the place and each other, along with exploring our passions, curiosities and what we love to do at Horizon group. Along with that there has been lots of games and free play.
We have also learned about animal behaviour and what animals are doing at this time of year, helped by a visit to a deer farm. We have been noticing the changing seasons and celebrated the equinox while getting a chance to help with apple pressing on the estate.

The teen group is well established, reconnecting and settling back into their camp and community quickly. We have spent time at camp preparing for winter and practicing our fire skills, but this year we are also getting out and about and contributing to the community.
We visited the Crannog centre, learning about iron age life, and, the following week, we climbed Largo Law and made Haw and bramble Oxymel. For our volunteer work this season we created a dead hedge to benefit wildlife and carried out a badger survey, providing valuable information for the ranger service.
